Publication Authorization

What this page is for

EZFigure provides a publication authorization document for users who need supporting documentation when sharing a generated figure with a journal, publisher, client, marketplace, reviewer, or internal approval team. This page explains what the document means and when you should generate a new one.

What the authorization document is

• It is an EZFigure-issued record tied to one identified asset and export version.
• It shows that the figure was created and/or edited with EZFigure.
• It is intended as supporting documentation for external review, publication workflows, and professional use.

What it covers

• Commercial, academic, educational, and professional use of the identified asset, subject to the EZFigure Terms of Service and the account status associated with the document.
• EZFigure-provided templates, design elements, layout elements, or platform-generated visual elements included in that asset.
• Minor post-export presentation edits such as cropping, resizing, formatting, labeling, annotation, and layout placement.

What it does not mean

• It is not a copyright registration, legal opinion, publisher approval, journal approval, marketplace approval, or government-issued certificate.
• It does not guarantee that a publisher, journal, marketplace, platform, or third party will accept the figure.
• It does not transfer ownership of user-supplied text, research data, reference images, labels, claims, uploaded materials, or third-party intellectual property.
• It does not automatically apply to a materially different figure, a substantially re-generated figure, or a newly exported final version.

When you should generate a new authorization

• You regenerate the figure or export a new final version for submission.
• You materially change the figure's content, composition, labels, or design.
• You combine the figure into a substantially different final deliverable.
• You need a certificate that matches the exact asset version you plan to send out.

What to send to a publisher or reviewer

• The final figure you intend to submit or share.
• The matching EZFigure publication authorization PDF for that specific export version.
• Any citation, acknowledgment, disclosure, or rights information required by the target publisher, journal, platform, client, or reviewer.

Quick reminder

The authorization document works best when it matches the final asset version you actually plan to use. If the figure changes in a meaningful way, generate a new authorization document.
